A Musical Celebration: Concert

Join us in celebrating Music for Everyone’s 40th Anniversary, with an afternoon concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall on Sunday 2nd July, 3.30pm, bringing together over 300 performers from MfE’s Daytime Voices, Daytime Orchestras, Festival Chorus, Concert Orchestra and Chamber Singers, past and present! MfE’s Sunday Afternoon Big Band and Flute Choir will also be performing in the Osborne Suite before the concert.
Opening with a brilliant new fanfare for choir and brass – Hail, Bright Cecilia! – to celebrate MfE’s 40th Birthday, the concert also includes ‘O Fortuna’ from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ from Handel’s Messiah, excerpts from Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and music by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Queen. All to say a special ‘THANK YOU’ to Angela Kay for 40 years of outstanding music-making in the East Midlands.

Spotlight on Youth – Saturday 1st July, 3.30pm Albert Hall, Nottingham
Come and celebrate 40 years of MfE with our instrumental youth groups and Vocals Choir featuring alumni members. Programme to include magical folk-fiddling by special guest Sam Sweeney, national folk musician and former MfE Stringwise member.
