SPOTLIGHT ON YOUTH
We start the festivities with the four regular youth groups: Strictly Strings, Youth String Orchestra & two Youth Bands; Vocals youth choir and invited alumni members in a Spotlight on Youth concert on Saturday afternoon, highlighting the MfE Youth Programme. With a special guest appearance by Stringwise alumni and folk fiddle player Sam Sweeney and music items featuring all singers and players, this is a concert experience not to be missed!
VOCALS
Come and perform songs from the recent Vocals workshop ‘Celebrate around the World’ and join alumni singers to form an inter-generational choir!
Timetable for 1st July
Rehearsals 12.30pm – 2.30pm TBC
Concert 3.30pm – 5.30pm (Children will be supervised between rehearsals and concert)
MfE Alumni – Youth Band, String Orchestra & Choirs
We are trying to contact as many ‘alumni’ from our youth groups, String Orchestra, Wind Band, Chamber Choir, Girls’ Choir and Boys’ Choir so as to invite them to be part of this 40th Celebration and join with present and past members to contribute items to the concert or, if no longer singing or playing be a member of the audience.
The provisional timetable for the Saturday 1st July is as follows:
- 10.30am rehearsal, Albert Hall Nottingham
- 3.30pm concert, Albert Hall Nottingham
The exact format of the concert has not been finalised yet as we really need to know who might be able to come back and join us.
