Saturday 13 July: Robin Hood Youth Orchestra – Flash Mob

9am – 5pm: Across the City Centre

The Robin Hood Youth Orchestra will be part of the celebrations in July to mark the 50 years of friendship with Nottingham’s twin city of Karlsruhe, Germany.  The friendship between Nottingham and Karlsruhe started on 26 July, 1969, and the twinning has led to many joint cultural activities.  The Robin Hood Youth Orchestra (RHYO) has a close friendship with Jugendorchester Stadt Karlsruhe (JOK), which is a youth orchestra based in Karlsruhe, Germany.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations and the Big Youth Music Experience, RHYO will be performing flash mobs around Nottingham City on July 13, 2019 from 9am to 5pm! You can look out for them at some of the city’s most iconic points including the Robin Hood statue by the castle, train station and outside the Theatre Royal & Concert Hall.  RHYO will also be part of the celebrations in Karlsruhe later in July as they go on a residential to Germany on July 19!
