DESCRIPTION:A workshop and performance day open to all young players aged 8 – 21 \nThe Becket School\, Wilford Lane\, West Bridgford\, Nottingham NG2 7QY \nMusical Directors:\nThe National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain Ambassadors\nChris Swann: Principal Clarinettist – Sinfonia Viva\nTutor – Royal Northern College of Music \nJunior Band: grades 2 – 4\nSenior Band: grades 5 – 8+ \nWhat is the Big Youth Music Experience? \nBYME brings together youth music organisations based in the East Midlands to provide exciting musical opportunities for young singers and instrumentalists aged 8 – 21. It is open to existing groups and individuals. This six-month project will culminate in a festival-style event in Nottingham over the weekend of 13 & 14 July 2019. \nWhat happens at the Big Youth Wind Band Experience? \nIn a junior band (grades 2 – 4) or senior band (grades 5 – 8+) wind\, brass and percussion players will learn swing\, improvisation and performance alongside superb musical ambassadors from the brilliant National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) and top clarinettist and conductor\, Chris Swann.
