It is open to existing groups and individuals. This six-month project will culminate in a festival-style event in Nottingham over the weekend of 13 & 14 July 2019. \nWhat happens at the Big Youth String Experience? \nThis unique day for violinists\, violists\, cellists and bassists aged 8 to 21\, grouped according to ability\, offers a rich experience in technique\, performance and repertoire through the expertise of professional conductor Nic Fallowfield. Nic places great value on his work with young string players and has led workshops across Europe. Joining him will be the dynamic Stringcredibles – an inspirational and entertaining young quartet. There will be ensemble playing and performances\, including a closing informal concert for family and friends. \nNic Fallowfield: www.fallowfield.org \nNic Fallowfield is a conductor\, violinist and teacher of many years experience. He is co-leader of Sinfonia Viva and first violin of the Tedesca Quartet. He has been a guest leader of many orchestras. Nic is Musical Director of The Midland Sinfonia\, conductor of the Charnwood Orchestra and Beauchamp Sinfonietta and a frequent guest conductor with orchestras throughout the country. He has conducted youth orchestras in North Wales for many years and also the youth orchestras of Warwickshire and Herefordshire. Recently he has been working with the Birmingham Schools Symphony Orchestra. Nic teaches violin at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. \nThe Stringcredibles: www.thestringcredibles.com \n \nThe Stringcredibles is a string quartet delivering work to support the connection between musicians and audiences\, mostly in schools and community settings. As professional orchestral musicians with a bold and broad vision for music education\, the Stringcredibles know that technical excellence is only part of creating a great performance. Drawing audiences into the meaning of that performance is just as important and achieving this is an elusive skill. Through the different strands of their work\, they explore and develop ways in which musicians can engage more effectively with their audiences helping to make every performance meaningful and inspiring every audience member – both young and old – to come back for more.  \nTimetable \nSenior Orchestra\n9.30am – Registration and Tuning\n10am – Rehearsals (with break)\n12.20pm – Lunch (please bring)\n1pm – Performance by the Stringcredibles\n1.45pm – Workshop with Stringcredibles\n3.15pm – Rehearsals (with break)\n4.30pm – Informal concert\n5.30pm – End of day \nJunior Orchestra\n12.30pm – Registration and Tuning\n1pm – Performance by the Stringcredibles\n1.45pm – Rehearsals (with break)\n3.15pm – Workshop with Stringcredibles\n4.30pm – Informal concert\n5.30pm – End of day \nLead Partners: \n \nOur Supporters:
