DESCRIPTION:Orchestral Playing Day: 9.30am – 5.30pm\nAlbert Hall\, North Circus St\,\nNottingham NG1 5AA \nDid you learn an instrument at school\, only for it to be gathering dust in the attic?  Maybe you have taken up an instrument later in life purely for the joy of playing? \nIf so\, Blow the Dust off Your Instrument June 2026 is for you! \nThis exciting and welcoming playing day led by Alex Robinson (orchestra and string ensemble) and Claire Franklin (wind band)\, is designed to help you rediscover old skills or put newly learned ones into action. You will enjoy making music in a friendly\, relaxed and supportive atmosphere\, alongside fellow players who share your enthusiasm. \nTo help you feel confident and prepared\, parts will be sent out in advance\, giving you plenty of time to get to grips with the music before the day itself. \nDust off your instrument\, rediscover the joy of playing\, and join us for a day of music-making you won’t forget! \n\nRepertoire \nOrchestra \nBizet – Aragonnaise & Toreadors from Carmen Suite No.1 \nRossini – William Tell Finale \nShostakovich – Waltz No. 2from Jazz Suite No.2  \nString Ensemble \nHolst – Brook Green Suite \nHandel – Sarabande \nWind Band \nWhitacre – October \nWatts – The Traitors TV Theme \nCoates – Calling All Workers \n  \nWorkshop Day Timetable  \n9.30 am                Registration  \n10.00 am             Morning rehearsals (to include coffee break) \n12.30 pm             Meal break \n1.30 pm                Afternoon rehearsals (to include tea break) \n4.00 pm                Short break \n4:30 pm                Informal concert for friends and family \n5:30 pm                End of course \n  \nInformal Performance This performance is designed to be part of the workshop experience for participants to enjoy. Friends and family will be welcome to attend.
