Nottingham Festival Chorus

festival chorus

This is Music for Everyone’s flag-ship choir, a large-scale four-part chorus (200+ voices) performing major classical and twentieth- century works, with our own semi-professional Concert Orchestra.

Membership is open to all by subscription (no auditions). There are no weekly rehearsals - singers are provided with scores and rehearsal CDs to help them learn the music at their own pace. There are three intensive and highly enjoyable events per year: an October workshop day and then two weekend courses with concerts in January/ February and June/July. There is also the option of attending a sectional rehearsal prior to the course - there's one for sopranos and altos and one for tenors and basses. Nottingham Festival Chorus courses and concerts are conducted by Music for Everyone's Artistic Director Angela Kay.

Wheelchair access is available to all venues.

"I had a wonderful time singing in the chorus under Angela's direction - she makes singing such good fun, at the same time as learning new and interesting music and how to sing it well."  Nottingham Festival Chorus member

"I had a super weekend singing with the Festival chorus..... thank you to the organisers, and especially to Angela Kay, whose dynamism seems to know no bounds!!" Nottingham Festival Chorus member

"The course was remarkably well organised; the atmosphere among the singers was very supportive...and the programme was both challenging and rewarding." Nottingham Festival Chorus member
